Ruth's Version of the Truth @ TTP on May 1

Ok, here it FINALLY is ... now Arlene, you will be the only one of us that hasn't posted yet. Sorry but I had to point that out .

I was supposed to be at TTP at 11 am but I was online with Carolyn until 10:57. Don't worry, I made it there on time since I live just a hop, skip, and jump away from the store. See, I HAD to stay online with Caro since she was upset and worried about Tracey, who got there right when I was signing off. So, I arrived at work and heard that Edith and Arlene were there. I didn't see them so I finally said to Dan WHERE? He said they were here. Then, he gave me a really kewl container filled with Edith's famous tarts. I think that's what they are. I've never actually had a tart except of course pop tarts but I don't think they count. Whatever they are Edith, they are DELICIOUS!!! Thank you very much. Julian, have you tried any of these?

Debbie was already there and it was nice to see her and know who she was this time so I talked to her for a few. I settled in and started working right away and did NOT take a break until after the signing ... ok ok I'm lying. I basically got to mingle and talk to the gals most of the time since it was not packed like the last one. It was the BEST autographing I've been to/worked at yet. But, I know July is going to be AWESOME.

I was talking to Edith and Arlene who had just come back from wherever they were (I forgot to ask them). I tried to get things organized before everyone showed up. I gathered up Edith, Arlene, and Sue's books that they ordered. I didn't think LLM was there yet but she was. Since I had told Edith she wasn't I decided to stand in line to get Edith's books signed, along with mine. So, I was holding THREE sets of LLM's vampire books (4 each ... total of 12 books) until it was my turn. She signed mine, then Edith's, then Edith's sisters books. BW was nice enough to take mine and put them behind the counter for me, and he didn't even say "Aren't you supposed to be behind the counter working?" Btw, this part took place in Dan's living room. Sue is right ... and Tracey too ... it was great and not too crowded for the authors ... except they were kind of trapped and Dan did clean!!

Actually the whole store looked BEAUTIFUL and the best part is that I didn't even have to clean it up. There were flowers and menus on the tables (neither of which had never been on our little tables before) and everything was nice and shiny, the bathroom, and all. Not that TTP is usually a mess but wow, we were all fancied up for the BIG DAY. Binnie had even made me, BW, and Dan name tags ... maybe the authors too ... I'm not sure. Edith had also sent me a BB/N name tag so I wore two yesterday. I felt very special!!

Sue came in next I think. Yes, it was Sue. I introduced her to Edith and Arlene who had been looking for her. Next, Sue gave Dan a hug and then disappeared for a while. When she returned it was my turn to hug her . Every time I saw Edith she was buying another book or another pile of books. Oh Edith, you are BW's favorite kind of customer!! lol

I let Edith, Arlene, and Debbie look at my wedding pictures. When Sue came in she looked too ... then, I had to narrate. I left Dan to work by himself while I chatted with my pals, telling them who everyone in the pictures were. Soon after Tracey and Carolyn arrived. More hugs ... and uh, choke holds . Carolyn and Tracey came in without even saying hello to Dan and I ... but I must admit that Sue distracted them. They were busy looking at the wedding pics too. After some comments about Tracey's butt, Dan finally went over and hugged her. Then, it was my turn. Why am I always last? JK I rang up a few customers in between mingling with the broads and the authors. It was great, much more relaxed than the last signing. Dan and I joked around a lot and teased Tracey for "dishing us".

Btw, what Sue said about my dh is true. He did try to deceive everyone. In the wedding pics and most of our "professional" photos we've had taken he look clean cut with his beard shaved and his long hair pulled back. But, in real life he looks kinda rough but sexy Ok, enough about that.

I must tell you that we were disappointed in Sue. I asked her what kind of cigarettes Nora smoked and she actually did NOT know. Can you guys believe this?!? What happened is that someone left a pack of cigs on the counter and I asked Dan if they were his Mom's. He didn't think so ... well, he kind of wasn't sure. I couldn't believe that but more surprising than that is that I asked Sue and she didn't know. Sue, do you know now?!?!?

My step son (24) Adam did come over and talk to us a little. He is usually not shy but you all did a good job on him cuz he was much quieter than I've ever seen him. Yes, I am 23 and he is 24. Imagine that, what an interesting life I lead. In addition to showing pictures of my dh, and stepsons I had to bring out my grandma brag book. Yes, I am a 23 year old step grandmother too. I love pictures, as all of you could tell. I carry TONS of them with me everywhere. Thanks to Carolyn and Arlene for showing us pics of their handsome sons also.

Sue took lots of pics of us and of the authors. I can't wait to see them. Edith and Arlene took some too I think. At the end we did make BW take pics with everyone's cameras. It was great!!! Dan and BW were nice enough to let me take a half hour ... which turned into an hour lunch break so I could hang with the ladies. We went to Crawfords and yes, everyone that ate lunch had a burger except me but I had a steak and cheese so it was close, Tracey said so! Same animal, right Trace? We laughed, talked and as Sue said stuffed our faces and found out that Edith doesn't like the ---- parts of books. But, don't worry Edith, your secret is safe with us ... X-: my lips are sealed, see.

I almost forgot this part ... some people were able to get some books that I didn't even know we had. I could not believe that these bb/n's know things that I don't know about the books I am supposed to be selling. I can't say which books I'm talking about because ... well because I cant ... soon the secret will be out though , right Sue? You guys better hope that I'm able to get one of those books!!!

Well, after lunch, I did show them my MESSY apartment. No matter how much I clean it never seems clean. I guess that's what happens when you live with two men. Uh-oh, I better shut up before some of you want to take my place, living with two men!! My dog liked Sue, Arlene, Edith, Tracey, and Carolyn so much that he wouldn't let them leave. He made them all parade back up the stairs and I had to hold him and make him sit until they went out so he didn't follow them. Debbie, sorry you missed seeing my place, there's always next time and don't worry it will be just as messy then I'm sure . Edith tried to teach Biscuit (dog) some manners but he just didn't want to cooperate. Can I hire you to train him Edith?

We all hugged outside and then I went back to work, ggrrrrr as Sue would say lol. Tracey and Carolyn popped inside so Tracey could make me run up and down the stairs two times for addresses that she already had!! JK Trace, any time. I guess that's about it.
