Well, the votes have been tabulated and a winner has been
chosen!
What!
You didn't get to vote? LOL. Don't worry ... I had a certain song in
mind all along, but had trouble finding the lyrics - seems the
cassette is no longer printed (and my copy is in Kansas!) So, I
rented the movie tonight and wrote down every word (well, the ones I
understood) and have reprinted them here.
It's a wonderful song, Ladies - from one of the most socially
significant movies of 1979. It embraces new Noraholics and old, the
TTP trip and this board, and still manages to add a touch of obscure
magic and whimsey.
The song is sung around a campfire where friends have gathered
after a harrowing journey. The singer ... a small, turkey-like
creature named Gonzo. His friends? Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, Miss
Piggy and a host of others.
And to quote Kermie and friends at the end of 1979's Muppet Movie ...
"Life's like a movie, write your own ending ... keep believing ...
keep pretending ..."
And sing with happy hearts.
