What I Did on My Summer Vacation!

What I did on my summer vacation .... oops! ....
that's Nancy's line! Mine should actually be "My
First Vacation I Took for Me." Yes, this past July
was a month I did lots of things I've never done
before. I traveled across the country for personal
rather than for business, I traveled what some may
say is a very long way to attend a book signing,
and I wasn't even the author! ... LOL ...
I met an author that I have admired for a long
time, and a person I have come to admire greatly
over the past few months. I also met a group of
women that possess a warmth and comaraderie that I
wasn't sure was possible.
My friend, and boss, asked me before I left if I
had any fears and / or expectations of the trip. I
said more fear than expectations - those I was
trying to keep to a minimum (we know how they can
be!). My fears were the normal "everyone will look
like Heather Locklear or Kate Jackson, except me"
type, the "I hope they will like me" type.
When I got home, I told him that my fears were
assuaged by the warmth and togetherness of the
group. And as for expectations, the reality far
exceed anything I ever could have imagined.
As for the fun! Oh yes, I still laugh when
images pop into my head. I can't wait for another
reason to get together with this bunch! Maybe TTP
should be a semi-annual event. Are you up to it
