Nora & Her Family

in the Caymans

Ahhhhh.

Had a lovely, relaxing dinner al fresco at the hotel. Stacie and I split a bottle of champagne. The food was wonderful, the service just dandy courtesy of our waitress from County Limerick. Spectacular sunset, with the red ball of the sun just melting into the sea.

I was a good girl this morning and headed down to the gym for a workout. Came back, showered and watched a storm roll in. There's nothing quite like a storm at sea. Pitchfork lightning, and a sudden, drumming rain that sent my mother and me back indoors. Wonderfully dramatic black clouds and silver sea. But it was over in five minutes. We wiped off the table, took the cushions off the chairs, and by the time breakfast was delivered for all of us, the sun was shining.

We geared up and headed into George Town, where the passengers of three cruise ships had also decided to spend the morning. Despite the astounding crowds, we had a fine time of it. I bagged myself a beautiful diamond bracelet. Sort of heart-shaped links with little clover shaped studs between. Very delicate. I seem to be making quite a collection of these.

Souvenirs were had by all. Hats, shell trinket boxes, candles, fridge magnets. We did the serious tourist thing, then headed back to the hotel. Down to the pool to cool off, engage in margarita time. A light lunch and zoning.

Two little tow-headed kids in the pool today. Brother and sister. The girl was maybe two, the boy about four. Fun to watch--and entertaining to see their parents split duties and try to keep up with each of them.

We're doing Italian tonight. I may catch a nap first.
