Nora in Japan
Also dated 8-27 ...
Trouble connecting from here, oddly enough. No
access # from Tokyo for aol that works. We're still
working on it.
Yesterday was fine. Minako took me to a big
department store, and I immediately found a lovely
necklace and earrings to take home from Japan. BW
stayed outside and took pictures of the street and
buildings. The traffic is horrendous here. We went
to a camera shop as BW is looking for a lens. He's
going around with Youkiko today while I work.
We had lunch where for an appetizer I order some
tuna dish. Imagine my surprise when it was raw.
Ptui. BW ate it and enjoyed. We walked through a
marvelous park, heavily forested, and saw a shrine.
Prayed to the god.
Last night was a Japanese style restaurant. Private
room, take off your shoes. Lots of food I could it.
A small miracle. Gorgeous tempora, lovely slices of
beef you get to cook on your own hot rock. I liked
this especially. Wonderful seafood. Dish after dish
is served. If it strikes your fancy, there's a bath
right next door. It didn't strike mine.
To get to this restaurant you have to pile on an
elevator with six million people. Going up my right
breast was pressed solidly into an old man's
shoulder blade. No one seemed to mind. We were on
the 38th floor with a killer view. Rea, the PR
woman, gave me a gift of lovely moonstone earrings.
I put them on right away, and knew this was the
proper move when there were many appreciative sighs
and huge smiles.
Today is very full and busy. Press coming shortly
and I'll be on all day, with a corporate dinner
tonight. But everyone is incredibly sweet, and the
room is marvelous. Spent a long time in the shower
with my six shower heads. I could live there.
Hope I can figure out how to sign on and send
this.
