Rolling now. Did several stock signings in
Cincy, and more media--but grabbed a burger and
fries in the bar before heading out to the signing.
Rain kept up--seems to be following me. Wonderful
signing, lots of familiar faces.
Got sprung about nine, shifted to a driver for
the trip to Louisville. Rainy drive, but a good
enough driver that I nodded off a couple times. Or
maybe I was comatose.
Checked in here about eleven, with serious brain
slippage. But managed to set today's stuff out and
find the bed.
Up and six, and it's still raining. Met escort
Jenny downstairs and walked next door for the
morning radio gig. Get there at 7:15. This place
has no buzzer on the door, so you wait for them to
come let you in, or bang on the door. We wait. And
wait. Wait some more. Jenny's getting nervous, goes
down and tries to find another way in. Nothing.
Bang, bang, bang. Nobody comes. It's like we're the
last people alive in Louisville.
After thirty minutes--and oh, I coulda been
sleeping--somebody gets off the elevator who works
there and let's us in. We get back to the studio,
but they're on air. She peeks in to let them know
we're out there. We go in at 7:50, which was what
the radio crew thought was my arrival time.
7:15--7:50--I can see how this could happen in
over-the-phone bookings. I can also see me getting
another half hour's sleep. Oh well.
Fun radio show, as it always is, and in ten
minutes, we're off to the morning TV deal.
There's a female personal trainer on before me
with biceps that struck fear in my heart. This
woman had log-jammer arms--big, bulging muscles
that would have been impressive on a guy. She
looked like she could bench-press Utah.
Finished up there, and the sun's trying to come
out. Had a phoner back here at the hotel. Going to
eat something shortly. Don't have to start again
until later this afternoon.
Heading out to Lexington after tonight's
signing, with a very, very long day there on
Thursday.
Oh, this really sweet guy who always comes to my
Cincy signing brought me red roses. Too late to
think about calling housekeeping for a vase when I
got in, so I cleverly put water in the little
bathroom wastebasket, put the roses in that and set
them on a table.
Who would've thought a wastebasket would leak.
Pretty big mess this morning. LOL
