Whew.
In KY there's a basketball fever with this coach
guy who used to be at a college at one city, went
up north and is now coming back to another city. I
don't follow round ball, so I'm clueless*, but down
here is a mongo story. Bumped me off my afternoon
gig. I cried no tears over this, but went shopping.
Shoes were the goal, but the pickings were slim.
Had to settle for a diamond bracelet. What's a girl
to do?
Had a quick bite then it was off to the
wonderful Hawley-Cooke. There was this delightful
young man, JD Robb fan, who'd driven all the way
from Austin, TX to attend. They brought him in the
back room where I was signing stock so I could talk
to him for a few minutes. Really sweet guy, awfully
cute.
Always love signing here, and had a great crowd.
When it was done, Jenny started driving me toward
Lexington where we planned to meet Barb--Lex escort
along the way as Barb was bringing her author into
Lex. Big switch time. Only we passed each other
just as we made the connection by cell phone. LOL.
Turn around, drive back a few miles to hook up
at a Shell station to switch off bags and authors.
This is the glamor. <g>
Barb drove me into Lex, dropped me at my hotel.
I staggered to bed.
Up early. Long, busy day. Early radio, another
radio, TV, stock signing. Oops we have thirty
minutes. Shop. Bag a couple shirts, cute skirt for
vacation, great suit for conference wear. Stock
signing, radio, radio, radio. But somewhere in
there we got food--and a margarita. Set me up
pretty good.
It's been gorgeous here. Sunny and near 60.
Barb's great, always takes good care of me. Tons
of media, food, alcohol, shopping and book store
stops. I'm beat, but will revive for tonight's
Joe-Beth signing.
Leave for Dayton tomorrow, but NO early calls.
It'll be nice to sleep until the sun's up for a
change.
Betrayal stayed on for week two at number
six. Delighted.

Pitino! LOL -- if anyone asks you, you can be in
the "know" now! He used to coach the Kentucky
Wildcats; left for the Boston Celtics in the NBA;
quit the Celtics; was considered the "hot" coach
for any college opening; Louisville -- another HUGE
program in Kentucky -- fired their legendary coach,
Denny Crum; enter Pitino.]
