Couldn't stir myself out of the hotel room.
Figured resting the brain might hold off brain
death. It chilled off considerably. Weather people
mumbled about possible snow, but I refused to
believe them.
Headed out with Publicity Amy and Tom for a
stock signing in NY. Good-bye NY!
This was a Waldens in a mall near Kathy O. I'd
signed there before, but the mall's under
construction now, so it wasn't good for a formal.
Wonderful staff there, and I meet the manager Mark
who's been named RWA Bookseller of the Year.
Go, Mark!
They not only have soda for me, but cookies.
Yum. And Kathy O comes by. So good to see her, and
her handsome son, Matt. We hang out in the back
room while I sign the stock.
Then it's off to Freehold. My butt's really
dragging now, and the hour's drive wipes me out.
Revive considerably with some dinner.
Carol and the gang at the B&N are so much
fun. This is my third signing there, so it's old
home week. Stock, holds, shirts in the back.
Big SRO crowd. I think I might've babbled a bit
during the Q&A. There's this great older guy
and wife in the front row. He turned her onto me,
LOL. He's a big reader, loves my stuff. He's so
incredibly sweet when he comes up to have his book
signed. At the core of it, he's why I do this.
Vicky from the boards is there, which reminds
me, she was also at Clark yesterday. Vicky gets
around!
The Two Jeans are there. Home made butter
creams. Mmmmm.
The crowd's a mix of people who've come before,
and signing virgins. Lots of fun, but pretty much a
blur now. Remember one funny: Woman comes up, tells
me she LOVED the ending of The Villa. A few
minutes later, another woman comes up, tells me she
HATED the ending of The Villa. LOL.
It's a long signing, so we don't get out until
going on ten. Part ways with Amy who's heading home
with her driver while I head to Philly with Tom.
Stumble into hotel. So happy to know a bed's in
my immediate future. Settle in, stretch out.
ZZZZZZ.
