Nora Roberts's NORTHERN LIGHTS

Nora's Report from Louisville

Long flight from California, spent with a good book and a lousy movie. Lots of bumps, too. I'm glad I've only got one more flight.

Wonderful to see BW at the hotel. Unpack stuff for cleaning, get organized and order room service.

Then sleep for 10 hours.

Feel human Sat. Liz is here, and the three of us are off in what looks like a prom limo--big, long and white--to Louisville and the signing at B&N. Rainy, rainy day, and still a lovely crowd of happy faces. I know some are disappointed I can't sign books from home, but this rule--and the Penguin group only rule--have saved my arm, hand and energy. I'm tired, but not nearly as wiped out and edging onto sick as I usually am at the end of Week Two. Average event time is two hours opposed to four. This makes a huge difference in my energy and sanity levels.

We head back to meet up later for drinks, along with Liz sil from the area, Leslie. Then at the driver's suggestion go to Jeff Ruby's Steak House for dinner. It's just great!

Back at the hotel bar, and there's Harold! Fresh in from the airport. It's nice to hang out and relax with everyone at the bar for awhile.

Still, I don't sleep very well for the first time on this jaunt. Have no idea why. Thank God I have today off.

Finished my workout, and later today we'll turn my suite into a salon. I'll have fresh hair for Week Three.
