Angela's Report from Houston
I am still excited and its the day after, lol, I FINALLY got to meet the
Queen! I was so upset that I had to miss last year because I was ill, so
when I found out that she would be back in Houston again this year I knew
nothing would keep me away this time, I wasn't gonna let it, lol. I planned for weeks and put together a small gift basket for Nora, (some Dots, Hershey Kisses, lots of her favorite things. :)
The night before I could barely sleep, I was so excited and actually a bit nervous. The next morning I got up early and dressed, (wanted to look nice for da queen :D) my mom and I met my sister at her house and we were on our way!
The signing was at Sams, when we got there I grabbed my little gift basket and was a little worried they wouldn't let me carry it inside, but when I told them I was there for the signing they nodded and allowed me in. We got there about an hour early and there was already a line so I grabbed NL and headed for it before it got too long. I'm glad I did. So, there I am, already nervous, and now I had about forty minutes to wait.
A woman who worked for Sams walks past the line at about 12:45 and I hear her say, "She's here so it shouldn't be long now," lol, and that's when my palms began to sweat. I got a glimpse of Queen Nora about 5 minutes later (she looked so pretty!) and the signing began not long after that.
I made it through the line and then it was my turn, my sister was on standby to take pictures. I walked up and she looked at the name on my book and said "Are you Angela?" I actually managed to speak, lol, I had been nervous that I would either stutter or gush, I told her that yes I was Angela. She said I looked familiar to her, but I told her I didn't think we had met before, lol, (I am sure I would have remembered.) She was very nice, her face lit up and she exclaimed "Dots!" when I gave her the basket I had made for her. I took 2 quick pictures with her and thanked her very much and then moved out of the line. I told my sister and mom later "I only got to spend a minute with her, but it was a very cool minute!" :D
I'm so GLAD I got to go!
I hope to get my pictures back soon, when I do I will see about posting them on the board.
