Nora's Report
The trip to New York Sun morning was fairly easy, especially since I slept part of the way. This stupid cold is wearing me down before I get started.
Always good to be back in New York, even though this quick visit doesn't allow for shopping. But I have a lovely drink with my agent, then dinner with her and Publicity Liz so we can go over the schedule.
Early to bed for me, and early to rise.
Heading over to the GMA studio about 7:20, and thank God the makeup girl there can do something with me so I don't look like I have a head cold. The studios and the staff are great, fun and interesting. Mark Wahlberg is late, but shows just in time for his segment. I don't see him in the Green Room, or anyone else, really, as I'm pretty much whisked away.
We do the deal on the downstairs indoor/outdoor set. It's tremendous fun. It was just great to see the group of ADWOFFers in the audience, all decked out in their Hooked On Nora tee-shirts. What an image, and what a good time. All those happy and familiar faces made quite a welcome for me.
I see Diane Sawyer, who is just stunning, and Charlie Gibson who is incredibly warm and charming. I'm just so touched when he tells me how he remembers working with my father, and relates a couple quick stories. I had no idea, and it really made my morning.
I'm given the stand here, smile there, then over here. But I have time between to talk to the ladies.
After the segment, I head out, and there's a woman at the stage door holding a a Robb book, hoping for an autograph. It's her birthday, and we wish each other happy birthdays. And I take a picture with another woman and her daughter.
From there I go over to a studio for a photo shoot for the Forbes article coming out in a few weeks. It's faster and more efficient, and more creative than most. Nice because I'm already made up, and need just a little buffing. I like the photographer--young and energetic.
Off again, back to the hotel to change, close suitcases, check out. Car is due at noon, but he's running late. Then later, and later still. The Columbus Day Parade simply undid him. I wait, wait, wait, until he finally pulls up at 1:45. Shamefaced and sad. LOL. Oh well.
Doze and munch pretzels on the trip down to Baltimore.
Early call in the a.m., with a very full day to follow that. So I'm about to eat my dinner, maybe watch a movie, then crash.
So far, not too bad.
