To My Fellow BB/N's,
After days and days of anticipation the day
we were to meet the Queen finally dawned. After picking out an
appropriate outfit (thanks to Sue and her timely advice ), Mom, PJ
and I headed to the King of Prussia Mall. Out trip was not without
problems. Due to excessive talking while driving out of my own
neighborhood, I somehow managed to get lost not once, but twice
before finding the PA Turnpike. We arrived at 11AM and went right to
Gene's Bookstore to check it out. We were told that the signing would
be done out in front of the store and this was great because it gave
us all plently of room to meet and greet our fellow BB/N's. One by
one we recognized each other as we arrived. Mom and my homemade
Noraholics badges helped identify us and the description the other
BB/N's gave proved to be right on target. We had ample time to chat
and get to know each other while we waited in line.
At one point the store manager came out with
some Homeport Mousepads. There were only 3 to be had and Kim, PJ and
myself were the lucky recipients . All of the sudden, a hush came
over the crowd as the Queen made her entrance. Mom suffered a Blonde
moment when she gushed "Oh, she looks just like herself!" It cracked
everyone up. We then moved one by one into the signing area. What can
I say now? Nora was just fantastic!!! Each of us shared a private
moment with her and I felt like I was being greeted by an old friend.
We asked if we could take a picture and Nora said sure but then,
after the first pic was taken she told us that one of us all standing
together would be so nice to have as a remembrance. We each had a
turn at standing with the Queen and in fact, when Jaci finished up
her audience Nora graciously joined us for a group shot that we will
send to Sue for ADWOFF so that our visit will be immortalized!!! Mom
and I can't understand how someone who has spent the last 2 weeks
treking back and forth across the country could still look so pretty
and perky as our Nora does. What a great lady!!!
After the signing, all 8 of us gals headed
off to Ruby's Diner for some lunch. What a great time we had talking
over the signing and getting to know more about each other. It was
with real regret that we took our leave soon after that. It was a
great afternoon and we look forward to meeting more our our fellow
Noraholics at the much talked about July reunion at TTP!
