Hi everyone!
Well this is how my signing day where I got to
see Nora went...
I got home last night from work at 3:30 AM. A
friend of mine switched shifts with me today so
that I could go to the signing. However, I was
antsy and hyper after working an 8 hour shift on
the phones and so did not get to bed till 4:30.
Needless to say rising at 8:15 was not fun. LOL
Got on the road with Mom by 9. Left so early due
to the fact that it was Bike Week down in Daytona
and the roads were busy. There were several
accidents, and I was praying the whole way there
that we would make it without incident.
Made it to exit 65 in about 3 and a half hours.
Headed to Cracker Barrel for a salad for lunch and
oops! It is now 1:30.. heading fast to the
signing... Get there at about 1:50, hear the tail
end of the questions and then head to my spot on
line... the very end. :::sigh::: Mom, being the
terrific mother that she is, tells me to stand
there and then goes and buys the copies of CM and
Witness that I need. Great mother. Owe her big on
Mothers Day for this trip <G>.
Spend an hour wrapping around the store chatting
with a few ladies about how excited they are to
meet Nora and what other authors that we like.
People were getting into the Diana G. debate on the
Outlander... stayed FAR away from that one and
suddenly, one woman's husband is telling her this
is taking too long, the basketball game is on and
to go. I felt so bad for her. =0( she was almost to
Nora too!
Another few minutes and I am at the table. Hand
Nora her gift bag containing Hershey's kisses, LOTS
of M&Ms and some snack mix, a card and a
candle. And best thing... She remembers me =0)
Nora looked gorgeous in a burgundy based vest
with all sorts of geometric patterns and inlaid
colors, over a white long sleeved T-Shirt. The
colors totally brought out the color of her hair
and her eyes. She was wearing gorgeous pants in the
color that can best be described as one in box of
Crayola's 64-- Sepia. Did not get to see the shoes
=0( Mom got some pics before I ever got up there
and I will post them as soon as I can get the
digital camera from the car tomorrow.
I was asking Nora how she was holding up, and
she was saying that she had gotten some sleep and
that she did not have to get up early. Sales Clerk
is shooting me looks behind Nora's back and so I
collect my books, and a special gift for someone on
the boards (which I will add information about as
soon as the person gets the gift), and start to
leave. But I grab Nora's hand and give it a squeeze
telling her to hang in there. =0 )
I am still in shock that Nora remembered me... I
am REALLY in shock. Actually I am bordering on
giddy. He he he he he he he he!!!!
I then headed another hour south to go see my
brother, sister in law and their pets. We had an
Italian dinner, spent some time hanging out and
left a little before 8. Better weather on the way
home and also better traffic conditions, so we made
the return trip in only 4 hours. Got in the door at
a few min before Midnight. Long day.
Well all, that is it from the Jacksonville, FL
contingency on how the Jensen Beach signing went.
Now back to your regularly scheduled program... LOL
Love ya,
Tracey.
P.S. Nora, thanks again for making this a terrif
day by giving your time and effort to make us so
unbelievably happy. =0) Hugs!
