Ok... I'm a very lousy reporter, but it looks
like no one else has reported in so I'll do a small
synopsis of the day.
Woke up late after coughing my lungs out all
night with bronchitis. Lindsay got here and we
left. Had breakfast then went to TTP. Got to
Boonsboro about noon and walked inside the store.
BW looks at me and complains "don't you have
your own bookstore?" Put my name in the drawing and
went to wait in line. Found Edith and Arlene
already at the front of the line... told them to
meet us at the pizza place. Food is always a
priority.
Anyway started winding my way through the lines
and discovered some new and some familiar books by
ladies I've read before. And some that I hadn't
heard about. I was good... I picked up only 3, but
chatted with several ladies, some of who (whom?)
actually remembered me from another signing.
Anyway... got to Nora, said hi and then said "Oh
my.... you look tired!" I've honestly never seen
her look that tired before. I'm so glad that soon
she will be sleeping in her own bed with her own
family and home surrounding her. She needs it.
Don't ask me for a fashion report... those of
you who know me know that I don't pay attention to
those things!
Went over to the pizza place with Lindsay and
started chatting with Gerri and Edith and Arlene.
They informed me that there was a cake with Nora's
picture and the cover of Carolina Moon on the
frosting. So I had to run back over and look
myself! When I got in the store everyone yelled...
Jaci... you won! I won! I won really big! I won! I
love winning!
So I picked out my prize and went back to the
pizza place. Everyone was looking at me strange
when I walked back in. I had this packet of papers
in my arms. I said... I won! I won the author's
manuscript of "Irish Rebel" I did good! I can't
wait to read it. Then everyone told me to go have
Nora sign it so I went back into the store and
asked her to sign it. I told Nora I didn't bring
her any chocolate because I thought she probably
had enough by now, but asked her if she wanted any
French fries. She got this pained look on her face
and said she would dearly love some French fries!
So I went and got her some and then went back to
eat my own lunch.
After several hours of chatting (even chatting
with the owner of the business, who if I was not
married would have definitely had the hots for!),
about diets, and men, and other important stuff...
we all went on our way.
Lindsay and I drove back, had dinner at Ashleys
and now I'm about the crash! Not enough sleep last
night hopefully will make me pass out without
waking up tonight!
Take care everyone!
