I had a really nice time at the signing on
Friday. A few people were missing and they were
sorely missed. You know who you are - Elaine,
Debbie (Frizzlet), and Pam.
Jaci was the big winner of the day, but she let
me touch the manuscript and look through it. This
was, by far, the kewlest thing I have ever laid
eyes on in my life. I only regret that I couldn't
find someone to distract her long enough for me to
grab it and make a run for it.
I will post some pictures later on this week. I
got some very good ones, I think. Nora did look
tired. But she was gracious, as always. Nice to
everyone, not a bad word to or about anyone. I
think, if it were me, I would have been a raving
maniac by this time. But not *our* Nora.
Professional to the end.
I had a nice treat after the signing. Edith and
Arlene were staying in town for an extra day. We
went to dinner Friday night. Then on Saturday,
Chelsea and I picked them up at ten a.m. and showed
them the sights! (HA!) First we took them to
Chelsea's school for Fun Day where we won two
cakes, played games, acted like children, and ate
lunch. Then we went back to TTP in Boonsboro
because, apparently, we hadn't spent ALL of our
money the day before. We took care of that quickly,
tho. Then I took them to old Harper's Ferry. We
went across the river on the footbridge, went into
some little shops and climbed up to Jefferson Rock.
Then we went to Church together, since they
would be traveling on Sunday and would miss Palm
Sunday mass, we went to the Saturday evening
service together. It was a sweet experience.
After that we went to the Hagerstown City Park
and played on the swings and walked by the lake.
Then on to Bob Evans for coffee and desert before I
dropped them at the hotel for the night.
It was one of the best weekends I've had in a
loooonnnng time. So relaxing and pleasant.
I'll post pictures soon.
