Well ladies,
I gotta tell you, I thoroughly enjoyed
myself.....left home about 4:30.....trying to catch
the interstate after the shipyard shifts were on
the road, and still miss the 5:00
traffic.....didn't do too well, lol. I left the
camera and the pralines on my bed at the house,
geez I bet if my head wasn't attached, I'd have
left it too. Blame it on Jerry though.....I had
already been to the bank twice yesterday, once for
me and once so Lore (daughter #2) could deposit her
paycheck, when at 3:45 he brings me another check
and tells me to make sure I deposit it
today...ARGH! MEN! So much for my plans of leaving
the house at 4.
But I pulled up in front of the Wal-Mart about
5:15, book in purse and ready to roll. Had to go
buy some M&Ms.
Anyhow, I went into the store, saw where the
signing was to take place and then I checked out
the book section, natch :) This is a brand new
Wal-Mart superstore...... and it's clean and
pretty, not to mention big. Now I found it
disgraceful that there was a decent stock of Nora's
books, but not one single J.D. Robb, a fact that I
did NOT mention to Nora, but did mention to all 3
of the store managers that were standing there.
Started chatting with a few of the ladies in
line, one will be at TTP IV, forgot her name
though. Most of the women in line heard about this
signing not from the Internet, or for that matter
any other way, but they shopped at that Wal-Mart
and saw the sign. And there couldn't have been more
that 20 people in line with me, and not many got in
line after I had had my turn. I sure hoped it
picked up for her, I was disappointed for sure.
Anyway, I saw Bruce first, he's in town with her
for the weekend......and they had been out seeing
some of the sights. Then I saw Nora and Liz....who
is a very nice lady.....and Nora got down to
business.
She looked good, very good, had on a dark gray
jacket with a soft black pullover and black pants
and black suede shoes, trés
élégante! Just discreet silver
earrings and chain for jewelry. Hair looked better
than on that video chat.
I waited patiently, actually I was reading the
newest Nora Hess, FLAME, that I had picked up in
the book section. Got to be my turn and I put my
copy of Honest Illusions on the table, and I
surprised her with it. It's not my ultimate
favorite I explained, but since it was set here and
written to depict the city so well, it was the one
I wanted signed. She liked that :)
Anyway, I put out the list of questions that
ya'll wanted me to ask...........here is what she
said.
Myra Ditmeyer DOES have kids.....if one of the
books says she and Herbert didn't have any, it was
the copy editor's fault, lol.....I loved that one
:)
Carla, she and Bruce were going for the
blackened redfish dinner after the signing.....it's
a N'awlins specialty.
I told her how much we all liked the chat, she
liked hearing that we had all listened to it, and
if you haven't heard it yet, you can still hear it,

JEWELLS!!!!! I asked her!!!!! And I told her the
question was from you and she laughed, I take it
that she expects these types of questions from you,
lol.
OK, Jewells wanted me to ask Nora what kind of a
man Roarke was.........boxers, briefs, thongs or au
natural.......well Nora looked me straight in the
eye and said that since Roarke is the proud
possessor of BIG BALLS, she envisioned him a
"briefs" kind of a man, so his balls wouldn't flap
or move around so much. roflmao!!!!!
Now I did forget to ask her about the cone
shaped thing.......so I need someone to clue me
into what she told ya'll, I'm dying to know.
For those of you that have never met
her.....she's nice, very down to earth and I liked
that. She loved to chat, and asked
questions......she was a doll. If she's coming
anywhere near ya'll, I highly recommend that you go
and meet her.
