First day, so far, so good.

Up unconstitutionally early--4:45 to get to morning TV show here in Baltimore. Didn't realize until I got there that one of the co-hosts had done a piece on me before. He's a riot, as you have to be to function at that hour. I get there at 6:15 for what is slated to be a 6:30 on air, and about a ten minute interview.

Marty comes out--mike her up now! Come right on out, okay, and you can just sit in with me and Don and be one of the gang. Well sure, why not. So they zip me out and we just sit there and carry on. Silly stuff, fun stuff. Ask me to stay through the hour. Okay, fine. So I'm on for 45 minutes. Tons of fun. Sign book for Marty's mother-in-law.

From there to radio interview, another long one, and very nice. The station has also run a contest and has selected about 20 winners to have coffee with me after the interview. Prettily done, in a conference room with danishes and so on. The winners can ask me questions, chat with me, have me sign their books. Everyone is happy--especially a young girl with her mom who was given permission to miss school this morning to do this deal.

From there to the next radio deal which is about 30 minutes. Done this show before, too, so the reporter and I are comfortable with each other.

Back to hotel to find they haven't cleaned my room yet. Bah. Make calls to NY, to home, order lunch. I have a couple hour's down time before my last interview and the signing that follows.

I'll sleep like a baby tonight.

USA Today piece runs in tomorrow's edition. Hope it turns out well.

AND ALSO FROM NORA

Fast changes.

First, I haven't been able to interest housekeeping in my room. LOL. They came by earlier when I was grabbing a sandwich, and I said work around me. Nope, they'd come back. I decided a couple hours later, to help them out and leave for an hour, and tracked down the maid to tell her, remind her of my room #. Come back, no deal. Tired now, want a nap, but track her down, tell her I'll fiddle around elsewhere for a bit more. Do so. No deal.

Screw it, I'm lying down.

Phone rings. Publicity. Fox News in DC would like me in the morning. Now this is not around the corner from Baltimore, and for an 8:30 arrival, I'd have to leave at 7:00. I suggest, if they want me to do this, they just move me to DC tonight after the signing, as maybe they'll have a clean room anyway. They like the notion and get to work on it. I close my eyes. Phone rings. Escort. Radio interview this evening is washed. Guy forgot about it. HAHA.

Fine with me. Close my eyes. Phone rings. I'm moving to DC. Okay, good. Must pack what I've unpacked, but this is easy and I've plenty of time now. Start to pack.

Housekeeping comes to the door. I send her away. LOL.

Phone rings. Publicity. Will I do a quick pre-interview with Fox now? Okay, fine.

Do it, pack some more.

So the upshot is, I have a nice hour left in my dirty room, but it's quiet. I'm packed up for DC, and will do Fox News tomorrow, on air 8:45 EST.
