Jill reports in ...

A friend and I left Thursday A.M. and drove to friend's daughters in Cynthiana, KY (648 miles, only got lost once, so 50 of those miles don't count).

Friday A.M. I drove to Fairfield, OH, to meet Deb, Pam, and Sara for the signing at Meijers. Nora asked Deb, "Are you here again?" (Deb was at TTP.) After the signing, we went to Steak & Shake to fortify us for the trip to the 5 story ubs in Cinci. Sara found 2 Ruthiebabes for me. Then we went to the airport to get Connie who flew in from TX.

Then we were off to the signing at Jo-Beth in Cinci. I am sitting there, and I hear my name being called. I turn around, and peeking over the top of a bookshelf are Tonya and Annette! Now, I was very happy to see Tonya, but I was over the moon excited to see Annette. We are two of the original Babes and we had never met. What a wonderful surprise.

Nora (well, she was there too) did a great Q&A. After the signing, Deb, Pam, Sara, Connie, Tonya, Annette, and I went to Buca's for some Italian food. Then we (5 of us) drove to Columbus (in a freakin' snow storm), and all but Sara crashed at Deb's house. I do not think Deb's kitties will recover from this weekend any time soon.

Saturday A.M. Jen came over to Deb's, and we went to Dayton for the signing at Books & Co. This is a great bookstore. We all contributed more than our share to the economy of Ohio booksellers. See Nora's report. Then we drove back to Cinci to meet a very tired, sore & aching Nora for drinks. Tonya and Annette were there! After we fought this OCD lady for 'her' table, we settled down for drinking & talking.

We came bearing gifts--Dots at one place, Hershey's at another, Pam had brought some homemade chocolate made by little old ladies in York, scented candles from Deb, and I made a quilt (with frogs) for the grandbaby.

Then back to Columbus to crash at Deb's again. By this time we were all just a little crazy. Sunday we (me, Deb, Pam, Connie, Sara, Jen) met Jenny Crusie for lunch at the Mohawk (Sycamore from Fast Women). Somewhere in there we lost an hour-it was probably the same one I lost when I crossed the Ohio Thursday.

Did I mention that Deb had 2 arc's of Faking It? And one of Hard 8? She is a mean woman. Jen stayed up to finish Faking so Jenny was quizzing her all through lunch. I just sat there in awe.

This was the best weekend--favored friends, cherished friendships. Wonderful.
