DEBBY DOES DULLES
(OR IS IT DONUTS?)

Here is some information about
the Debby does Dulles/Donuts joke, which I’m sure
will be repeated time and time again.
Debby Does Donuts is the name of
a donut shop that opened briefly in the Denver
suburbs ... named as a play on words after the
porno movie Debbie Does Dallas. It made a serious
stink because it happened to be a topless donut
shop. Not only was it a topless donut shop, it was
a topless donut shop in a heretofore "residential"
neighborhood, with schools, daycares, etc.,
relatively nearby. It curled the hair of residents
when it moved into the neighborhood, the civic
leaders threw a fit and fell in it, and the
establishment closed soon after.
Since Debby had just moved to
Denver at the time this opened, she took a lot of
ribbing about her name. When the broads were
planning to meet at TTP last year, Debby met them
at Dulles Airport ... therefore the joke became
Debby Does Dulles.

her donuts to explain for herself.

It's not an inside joke from
here, it's a regional joke in Denver ... specially
around my friends ... ya see, several years ago
...
In a land faraway, and a time
long past ... Oops! <G>, not that story!

Some nut decided to use a play
on the titles of those Debbie Does Dallas movies
... yes, THOSE movies <G> ... so he opened a
Topless (yes, you did read that right) ... Topless
Donut Shop ... you guessed it .... Debbie Does
Donuts ...
Well, needless to say ... this
idea flopped .... (Ack! ... no! ... no pun
intended! LOL) ... but the name lives on in infamy
around here ... And one of the customers where I
work (wire & cable distr.) still asks me how
the donut business is!!! ... I've taken to telling
him, "Donuts are out, we do bagels now."
