Debs,
If you guys meet up at Jenn's house you can always come over my way and then we can all go up there together. Probably have to take 2 cars, as I can only fit 5 in mine. Once the date gets closer and things are figured out let me know.
I looked at the Benihana menu and there are definitely several items on there that I would eat.

Hi everyone, It has been a VERY long time since I was on ADWOFF. The early stages of the change-over was too difficult to navigate.
Robyn, I am so glad you brought up the conference.... I will be attending, and will be interested in doing dinner with the gang. Please include me in your head count... ====================================== Annual NJRWA Conference Sheraton Hotel 515 Route One South Iselin, NJ 08830 Bookfair open to the public on Saturday, October 6 at 4:30pm We could go for lunch before the signing or dinner after. We have plenty of time to plan this, but I thought I'd share the date now

CHESTER COUNTY BOOK & MUSIC COMPANY 975 Paoli Pike – West Goshen Center – West Chester, PA 19380 – 610-696-1661
UPCOMING EVENTS
TUESDAY, AUGUST 28 – Bestselling authors MARIAH STEWART and M.J. ROSE team up for an exciting evening of suspense fiction at 7:30 PM. In LAST BREATH, the latest from Mariah Stewart, archaeologist Dr. Daria McGowan, with the help of her former lover, FBI Special Agent Connor Shields, probes the disappearance of some priceless ancient artifacts destined for a museum exhibit, and discovers that many of the private collectors who bought them illegally have met brutal, bizarre ends, the victims of ancient blood rituals. M. J. Rose will debut her new book, THE REINCARNATIONIST. Best known as an author of erotic thrillers, Rose delves into religious myth and past-life discovery in her well-paced ninth novel. In present-day Rome, a terrorist bomb explosion triggers flashbacks of pre-Christian Italy in photographer Josh Ryder. Josh experiences the memories as Julius, a pagan priest defending the sacrosanct monuments of his gods and the life of his vestal virgin lover against the emperor-mandated onslaught of Christianity in A.D. 391. Six months later, Josh has teamed with the Phoenix Foundation, an institute specializing in past-life memories in children, to explore a newly excavated tomb that may contain pagan memory stones that incite past-life regressions and will, by proving the existence of reincarnation, challenge the church. The stakes rise after it becomes clear that dangerous outside forces also want the stones. In a series of memory lurches, the narratives of Josh and Julius slowly wind together to reveal a Da Vinci Code-like tale of intrigue that’s more believably plotted and better than Dan Brown’s ubiquitous book.
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 – Preeminent names in the thriller field, DOUGLAS PRESTON and LINCOLN CHILD visit to sign and discuss their new book, THE WHEEL OF DARKNESS, at 7:30 PM. In the exciting eighth supernatural thriller from this bestselling team, the mysterious FBI agent Aloysius Pendergast and his ward, Constance Greene, seek peace of mind at a remote Tibetan monastery, only to fall into yet another perilous, potentially earthshaking assignment. The monastery’s abbot asks them to recover a stolen relic, the cryptic Agozyen, which could, in the wrong hands, wipe out humanity. The pair follow the trail to a luxury cruise ship, where a series of brutal murders suggests the relic’s evil spirit might already have been invoked.
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 12 – MEGAN MCCAFFERTY – sharp, funny, and sophisticated – visits to sign and discuss her new novel, FOURTH COMINGS, at 7:30 PM. Searching desperately for work and sharing an apartment with three other girls in a Brooklyn brownstone, recent Columbia University graduate Jessica Darling is stunned when her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Marcus Flutie, asks her to marry him and gives her a week to think it over. This is the fourth novel in a wildly popular series about a modern-day heroine that has delighted a legion of fans.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 – MAUREEN BARRY, a storyteller and children's book author, will perform her tales about CLICKETY CLACK, a wild chicken that wins her very first beauty pageant, and FREDDIE FROG and his boring adventure, at 2:00 PM. These stories invite children to participate or to sit back and enjoy the tales. After the performance, Maureen will have a book signing for all who would like to take home a signed copy of her books.
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 – Educator AMANDA LEEDY will present an extremely helpful PRINCETON REVIEW SEMINAR on "GETTING IN" at 7:00 PM. This is a 75 to 90-minute interactive workshop for students, parents and teacher/counselors on the secrets of getting in to America's best colleges. It will cover advice on choosing and applying to colleges, plus strategies for scoring one's best on the SAT / ACT and other college admission tests, and include audience Q&A. Attendees will receive materials to assist in their college planning. Among the topics the seminar will cover are: Is getting into college REALLY that difficult? How can you take control of the college search and not let it control you? Why starting the search as a high school junior is a smart idea. What role does the SAT or ACT play in the admissions process? How do you write an effective admissions essay? Which extra-curricular activities will admissions people look most favorably on? Additionally, this seminar will offer a wealth of easy tips to improving test scores. Don’t miss it!
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22 – Author and culinary wonder HOPE FOX will sign and present a sample tasting from her new cookbook, IMPRESS FOR LESS!, at 11:00 AM. This delightful volume explains how to re-create one hundred signature dishes from some of the leading restaurants around the country – including Jean Georges in New York, L'Espalier in Boston, Valentino in Los Angeles, and others – using readily available supermarket ingredients and basic kitchen skills. Yum!
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 – Fantasy master TERRY PRATCHETT visits to sign and discuss his wildly entertaining and funny new novel, MAKING MONEY, at 1:00 PM. Terry Pratchett's novels have been translated into more than two dozen languages and have sold over 45 million copies. In addition to his bestselling series about the fantastical flat planet Discworld, he has written several children's books, including the books of the Bromeliad Trilogy: TRUCKERS, DIGGERS, and WINGS. He has also written three award-winning volumes about the young witch Tiffany Aching: THE WEE FREE MEN, A HAT FULL OF SKY, and WINTERSMITH. Mr. Pratchett has also been awarded the Carnegie Medal, Britain's highest honor for a children's novel, for THE AMAZING MAURICE AND HIS EDUCATED RODENTS.
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 4 – Staff and customer favoriteWILLIAM LASHNER visits to sign and discuss his latest legal thriller, A KILLER’S KISS, at 7:30 PM. This new work once again features the character Victor Carl. This time out, Victor Carl, that lesser light of the Philadelphia bar, counts the ways an old flame can be too hot to handle. Unable to resist reconciliation with his alluring former fiancée Julia, second-rate lawyer Victor learns that Julia's wealthy husband has been murdered, a crime in which Victor finds himself targeted as the prime suspect when the police begin questioning him and the murder weapon appears in his bedroom. With characteristic humor, good plot twists, and great characters, A KILLER’S KISS is a must read for noir fiction aficionados.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28 – AMANDA LAMB visits to sign and discuss her delightful collection of essays, SMOTHERHOOD, at 1:00 PM. Lamb, a regular contributor to Dot-moms.com, lauded by the New York Times and Time magazine, writes about the reality of raising children, working, and keeping a family together, sharing some wickedly funny moments along the way. JOE’S QUICK PICKS: Look for the newly released THE TENDERNESS OF WOLVES by Stef Penney; AN ARSONIST’S GUIDE TO WRITERS’ HOMES IN NEW ENGLAND by Brock Clarke (September); and two great debuts – LOTTERY by Patricia Wood; and OPEN ME by Sunshine O’Donnell. Check our website under the NEW FICTION link for more information on these fine titles.
Please check our website at ccbmc.com or call us at 610-696-1661 to confirm the date and time for these events. Our events are free-of-charge and open to all. Courtesy dictates, however, that books to be signed must be purchased at the Chester County Book & Music Company, the sponsoring organization of these events.

Hey everyone! The NJRWA Book Fair is 4 weeks away and I wanted to make reservations for dinner if you guys still want me to. Here's the list of people I think are coming. 1. Robyn (Romantyk) 2. Lora (harley04) 3. Debby (Debs) 4. Jenn (Squenn) ? 5. Laura (Norareader) ? 6. Michelle (shellbell) 7. Geets (roarkeaholic) 8. Andrea (aro) 9. Patty (Momma Nightowl) Because it's a Saturday night, I'd suggest reservations someplace nearby. Note that Benihana ( http://www.benihana.com/ ) is expensive and will run each person @$40. Also, they have a 10 person limit for reservations. Our current number is 9. Even though I love hibachi, the cost may be prohibitive. As I mentioned before, the Rainforest Cafe takes reservations. Here's a link to their site: http://www.rainforestcafe.com/ (Menu under Cha!Cha! link) Also, I found out that Champps Bar & Grill does as well: http://www.champps.com/And as much as I love The Cheesecake Factory, they do not take reservations and I'd rather not wait 2 hours for dinner. I hope you agree. Just let me know what you want to do. Thanks.

I'm fine with whereever we go, I haven't been to Champps in so long but they do have good food.

Sorry, friends - I will have to back out. Dear Hubby bought tickets to a concert that same night in Reading, PA - don't think I'll be able to do both. Boo-Hoo - I'll be sad I won't be there with you all. Laura

I am still in, even though Laura won't be... As for food, Champp's sounds better for the bank account, although the Rain Forest sounds fun....decisions, decisions. And from Jenn... Me and Maureen are in. I am game for whatever the majority vote is.

Sounds good to me Robyn. I can either drive others from the Phila area or I'll take a ride. I don't want to drive by myself. Anyone interested can PM me. Thanks

I've never been to the Rainforest Cafe but I've heard it's good.
Just out of curiousity how long before do you have to cancel the reservation? I'm kind of in the same boat as Debby, it would be better for the wallet if we ate at Champps.

OK... for Saturday: I think books from home are a no-no. Although, Sherri may sign them anyway. That's just how she is. But it can't hurt to bring them. Here's the list of authors attending: http://www.njromancewriters.org/conference/bookfairauthors.htmlDirections to get there: Woodbridge Hilton 120 Wood Avenue, South Iselin, NJ 08830 Tel: 732-494-6200 Driving directions are below. New Jersey Southbound/NorthboundGarden State Parkway to Exit 131A Hotel is on the right at the exit Staten IslandOuterbridge Crossing to Route 440 Garden State Parkway North to Exit 131A Hotel is on the right at the exit PhiladephiaNew Jersey Turnpike North to Exit 11 Garden State Parkway North to Exit 131A Hotel is on the right at the exit *** As for dinner, I'm sure there's no issue canceling at the Rainforest Cafe. I'll call Champps today to see if I can get a reservation for 10 people (hopefully that's the number) at 6:30 PM. The book signing ends at 5:30, so we have an hour in-between. I'd rather give us more time than less. *** Edited to say: the manager at Champps told me they don't take reservations on Friday, Saturday or Sundays. I'm calling the Rainforest Cafe to change our reservation time if possible. EDIT #2: Our reservation is now at 6:30 PM (earliest possible) at the Rainforest Cafe.

huh. I wonder if Julia Quinn is that way, as well? I'll bring a couple, just in case, if not, I can always get her to sign my bag? or the print outs fo the second epilogues, No harm in trying, yes? As for Sherri, well, I got her to sign all my books last year when I was um..."stalking" her, lol.

I also only have a couple books to bring for Julia to sign.
Question: What time is recommended for arriving at the hotel for the event? I know that there is a start time, but having never been, I don't know if we should be there a bit early or way early or what.
Thanks! Debby

Last time we went, we all met in the lobby about 30 minutes before the signing. So I guess maybe 4pm in the hotel lobby?

Andrea,
Right now, all I know for sure is that Lora and I are carpooling. I don't know if yet if we are going to Jenn's to meet up with Jenn and Maureen first, or if we are heading straight over to Michelle's.
