I have some photos from Saturday on my website. Geets & Debby, if you e-mail me any photos you want hosted, I'll add them to my page. Here's the link: Book Fair Pics Patty, I hope you're feeling better. I'm trying to put mine together. Hopefully should be up by tomorrow.

Thanks for posting the pics Robyn, they turned out great. Too bad I couldn't find my camera, but I can't wait to see everybody else's.

Sorry I missed it on Sat. Sounds like you all had a great time. It seems like half of us didn't make it. Hopefully the next get together will be a big success. Thanks for the pics so far. Can't wait to see yours Geets.

I gotta work on my pictures tonight. I have just been running all weekend! Ugh!!
I had a great time on Saturday, and was so glad that Lora is a good co-pilot! LOL!! It was great fun to spend the day with Lora, Michelle, Sangeeta and Robyn. Met up with some fav authors...harassed some of them, too! Other authors couldn't believe my audacity at the note I left for Mariah when she wasn't where she was supposed to be....she laughed at the inside joke!
It was way confusing in there, so I spent a lot of time spinning trying to figure out their version of the alphabet, but still had a great time.
Dinner at the Rainforst Cafe was nice as well. I also got some nice elephant goodies from their on-site store!
What was really neat, at the end of it all, is that it only took about 2 hours from the restraurant to home!! So I was able to play with the dog for awhile before bedtime, too!
Forgot to add that I also did pretty good with the book buying. I only spent $60 for nine books. Lora spent more...mwahahahaha.
Edited by Debs (10/08/07 03:26 PM) Edit Reason: 'cause I wanted to add something.

GUILTY! I did the same with Sherrilyn and Julia. When I opened Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, she signed it: "To Sangeeta: So great to meet my stalker!" Only because they didn't let us bring in our own books (something about signing a contract that forbade us from doing so), and Sherrilyn and Julia were gracious enough to sign them after the event/fair. AHEM! You didn't mention my giving you an elephant. Not that I'm asking to be acknowledged or anything. ETA: I admit, I'm stupid at the picture thing, and didn't know how to shrink 'em. Okay, here are my pics:

I didn't even take my camera out of my bag. I had the same trouble as Debby. I too was spinning around looking for the authors I wanted to see. And one didn't even have the new book that has been out for awhile. She was upset as I was. Wished they allowed books form home. Maybe at least two per author. I didn't think it was all that crowded. But then there were a lot of authors I never heard of before. What is wrong with this picture? Debby bought nine books and I bought five and I spent more then she did! LOL I was a great time and I even made it home before 11pm. Lora

Awesome photos Geets, and I even look pretty good in them, lol. It took us a little over an hour to get home, course we ended up making a pit stop because in the middle of driving I suddenly wanted some Ice cream.
So it was off to Friendly's we went, where I was good and got the Sugar Free Vanilla Ice Cream--it's sweetened with Splenda and was very yummy. After that we went home and hung out with my nephews before they went to bed--my parents were babysitting them overnight.

Geets ~ your pictures are incredible! And the reason that I didn't make mention of the little elephant was because when I finally post my pictures (looking more like tomorrow now), I planned on including the little dude!!! LOL!!!
Lora ~ You only bought five books? Holy crap...hard covers? LOL!!!! But also, some of mine were older books, like the Sherrilyn Kenyon/Kinley MacGregor books, so they had original pricing on them.

Great pictures, ladies - you all look lovely. I'm so sorry I couldn't join you, but the concert we went to was awesome - third row seats! So it wasn't a total loss.

I bought a book from the Wild Rose Press too, I've never even heard of them--that was a pity buy,lol....I talked to her and felt bad about walking away with nothing, so I had to buy something.
I know it's a couple months away, but do we have an official date for Maggiano's yet?

Nag, nag, nag. I know it's a couple months away, but do we have an official date for Maggiano's yet? No, nothing firm yet. I am still waiting for more opinions from the community, which I know can be difficult at this moment as it is the end of the year and then trying to find out if your company is going to let you off as part of the holiday or if you need vacation and will you have any vacation left by then....all comes in to play. I have off. Guaranteed. I wouldn't mind either: Friday, December 28th (lunch) Saturday, December 29th (lunch) Usually, I go to my mom's for a couple days after Christmas, so the earliest I would be able to maybe do is Friday. And I don't recommend Sunday, December 30th as that is the day prior to New Year's Eve, and who knows what will be happening with the majority of people as they make final plans for the festivities. So, let me know. Majority rules. And if you don't let me know, then.....

So far, it is looking like Saturday...just so's ya know. Most are for either, two for Saturday, one for Friday.
However, opinions and thoughts are still being accepted. I would like to make the reservations either the end of October or beginning of November.

Okay, I chose saturday. But I will still try to save my last two vacation days. Now that my arse is in the seat of a motorcycle again, might be tricky. Cool, crisp sunny days and a Harley? Ah, how can I pass that up! Lora

The pictures are GREAT! You all look goijus!! Just like real life. Momma, I'm sorry to hear about your surgery, especially gall bladder. I'm glad it's easier this day and time, but still.... Take care of yourself. As I said in an email to Debby, any day suits me. We decided that getting a kitten keeps us from going on a trip over Christmas. And for some reason that only God knows, about the time I'm sick of malls, my dh has taken to loving them - especially Valley Forge. Go figure. I buy from eBay if I need anything. So count me in whatever day you choose.
