We finally watched it... and finished right in time for the Daily Show. What a great night of TV!

I loved it again!! I hate having to wait a week to see it. Loved the flashbacks to the crash. I'll be sad to see that end. I love seeing what everyone did at the time.

I don't know what Charlie was doing either. I'm not so well versed in the tannish drug you rub on your teeth. ANYONE?? Maybe a new type of fluoride?? Hmmm. I do love him though and I'm almost positive it has nothing to do with LOTR. Almost postitive. Did anyone else sigh when he said, "Spot on!"? No?? \:\)

What's the old guys secret?? Hmmm? I like him for some reason.

Can't believe Kate was the prisoner!! And then she saved the guy?? Stupid Kate.

And now Jack's going to save him?? Stupid Jack.

I wonder what's up with the Asian couple. He's a prick. She shows promise. Bet she's wishing he bought it in the crash.

Like Robyn, I hope the dog's okay. I always cheer for the dog though.

Redneck guy was a jerk... but those dimples... mmmmmm.

And Boone and Shannon were kind of annoying but every show needs the annoying people. And Boone's dreamy too. Those eyes... nice!!

And WTF?? A polar bear?? WTF?? And the thing from the cockpit was much bigger?? What? Was the thing they killed a baby?? Hmmm. Will we have a pissed off mutant polar bear mother roaming around??

And the 16 year message loop freaked me out a bit. Can you imagine?? And where was the other signal? Are there more people on the island? A whole cast away community brought down by mutant polar bears?? Hmmm.

I'm unsure... but will be tuning in next week! Can't wait!!

\:D

Glad you liked it too, Kirsten! \:D It's my new favorite show—well behind Without a Trace, perhaps. But I liked episode 2 and hope #3 is as good.

Also, this is what we have learned thus far...

spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert ****

spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert ****

Jack — Still a cute hero doctor, but I'm sure there's more to come.
Kate — Spunky convict? In any case, I want a bod like hers!
Boone — Pretty blue eyes and has a dimwit sister
Charlie — Has a drug habit, but still cute
Hurley — Doesn't do too well with blood and isn't hungry enough to eat sushi
Shannon — Shallow but speaks enough French to learn a lady was stuck here and all her friends were killed
Walt — Cute kid who wants to find his dog (as do I :cutewink: )
Michael — Clueless dad who doesn't even know his son is 10.
Sayid — Former Iraqi military officer and good with transceivers.
Sawyer — In a pinch will shoot mutant polar bears and had major attitude.
Locke — Likes backgammon and kids.
Jin — Domineering husband who tries to win points with others by sushi
Sun — Meek wife who I just know will rebel and unbutton that stifling hot cashmere sweater.
Claire — Apparently her baby likes sushi. Just wondering if the baby is born living how they're gonna keep THAT storyline going?

Also... polar bears move FAST! The French lady's distress signal has been transmitting for 16 years! U.S. Marshall guy is gonna die since he's not on the list above. Just my take. :p I wonder if the black lady will go too, since I don't see her on my series regular list? :dunno:

And I'm gonna have to watch the replay this weekend. Tape it? Hmmm... I'm sure it'll be out on DVD next summer and why waste tapes? :wondering:

Love, love, love this show!!

I like that I was surpirsed about many things, such as Kate being the prisoner. What did she do???

And when I saw the polar bear I was like :dunno: Couldn't quite figure that out.

I also watched the first half again and when Jack first calls out to Hurley, he just points to the wreck of the plane and says "Plane crash". :hystericallaugh: Missed that the first time..

Can't wait until next week. What I really love is that all these characters seem to have a story to tell and that I want to know their stories.

you know - i was bothered more by the 16 yr battery life of the message than i was by the polar bear - i guess because you could always explain the polar bear by saying he came from some kind of plane or boat crash but how did they keep that message going??? i guess i'm just weird that way!!

guy with the gun - can't remember his name - who else is thinking that is a dear john letter he got?? he looked sad when he was reading it

one of my favorite parts was when sayid and the other guy were talking about where sayid learned to repair the radio and they were talking about seeing combat and he asked sayid what branch he was in and sayid said "republican guard" - loved that!!

I watched it for the first time last night and enjoyed it. My DH didn't. He thought the acting was poor. I said we should give it a try for a few weeks.

I'm gonna have to watch this on Saturday because I missed the second episode due to my Grandmother's funeral. I forgot all about the show and everything. I'm glad they're showing it again because the dh and I were really looking forward to watching. \:\)

I finally watched the 2nd episode last night. It was SO HARD for me to check here before I watched it too...lol...I guess I do have just a little will power. That's nice to know...

spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert ****

I was also confused by the polar bear and the 16 year looping distress signal.

I think the drug Charlie was doing was herione but I could be wrong. I am basing my guess on "Pulp Fiction" lol

I want to know the old guy's secret! (I am not patient at all..lol)

I am hoping Kate (and I'm sure she is..) innocent of whatever she was being arrested for. The Marshall guy said something to the effect of "Maybe you can convince them..you almost convinced me.."

The guy with the gun was a little scary and I agree with Alanna about Sawyer getting a 'dear John' letter.

Boone is very cute and I think I have seen him somewhere before. Does anyone know if he has been in anything else? I can't place him.

I love Jack but I keep wanting to call him 'Charlie' from 'Party of Five'.

Can't wait for tonight's episode. I may actually watch is live! (which is funny...when I am watching live tv I get so annoyed that I can't fast foreword through the commercials..

Boone is played by Ian Somerhalder who also played Adam on Smallville this year ( well last season but 2004)

I know he has gorgeous eyes but so spooky when he was on smallville..go figure...

Love this show. I am partial to Matthew Fox though, I loved Party of Five and rarely missed it. Loved his acting as Charlie with Hodgkins...Great and awesome acting job...Much better than Baileys as an alcoholic (actor Scott Wolf) oh well, off topic sorry...

Love Lost can not wait for tonights...I have to tape and watch later though as it is on the same time as Smallville, must watch Clark Kent....

Last night dh and I watch the first two episodes. I loved it, and I am so happy I don't have to wait long to see the next episode because it is on tonight!

Like some other people pointed out, some things that happened seem a little out there or far fetched, but that's tv for you. I still enjoyed it.

I say this as a joke, but maybe it has some potential. What if the polar bears are there because some other plane, boat, or whatever also crashed on the island and they were carrying polar bears on board. This wouldn't be too far fetched.

Okay, here's the joke part. About the battery, wouldn't it be funny if they were using the polar bears as electricity. Like the reason the battery was still working for them after sixteen years is they had this gigantic hampster wheel and this polar bear was running inside creating the electricity to send the signal. Okay. that's too far fetched, but it was a funny thought for a moment.

Ok, I found an interview with the show's co-creator. Click HERE to check it out. There are no real 'spoilers'. Mostly he answers questions with questions but he does pose some very very intresting questions...

Well, we saw flashbacks about Kate's life but no real answers as to WHAT she allegedly did. But seeing how she was with the Australian man on his farm—she didn't steal from him or murder him in his sleep—and how she pulled him from the burning truck, I'd guess if she did any crime it was either unintentional or was set up.

As for Jack, I guess he put US Marshall guy out of his misery after Sawyer missed his heart! Idiot. Why didn't he shoot him in the head?? And I wonder if Hurley can keep the secret of Kate's mug shot.

We really got a view of all the other passengers from the plane today. The ones who aren't full cast members. That was cool. And I liked how they all pretty much worked together.

When Sun was cleaning up after domineering husband Jin told her too and Michael saw her topless. I was like get away fast before her hubby catches you looking at her. But I'm glad he made some effort to look for Vincent the dog.

And Locke... so glad he carved a DOG whistle! That was great! I was so relieved that Vincent was okay. My best friend Margaret watched with me and both of us were saying as long as the dog lives we're ok. :p But I still think Locke has some sort of creepy power we don't know about yet. But I'm not sure if it's benign or evil. Guess we'll find out.

Also, we think that when Sawyer runs out of cigarettes he'll be more dangerous than when Charlie runs out of heroin (our consensus of the drug).

By the way.. Nora connection here. We have characters named Boone and Sawyer. Remember Boone Sawyer from Charmed? \:D

Okay... that's all that I'm coming up with right now. Episode three was as good as the first two and I can't wait to see what's up with the possibility of the tail of the plane having survivors or ghosts of the dead loved ones appearing.

Locke is kind of freaky. Was he growling there at the end?? Purring? Or was it just the background sounds? :dunno:

And regarding Sawyer, yes he was an idiot... but DAMN I love him. When he was being all bad and looting through the dead people's stuff. And when he implied that they should be rationing the medicine. It was a good idea. Not very humane... but smart. Okay, MAYBE he should have shot the guy in the head instead of the chest. But he looked all upset about it afterwards. I should point out there is a very good possibility that my defense of him has nothing to do with his character and everything to do with his dimples. He's so yummy!!

And Charlie said, "Bullocks!"

And everytime someone calls out for Charlie, I look at Matthew Fox, who is now Jack... but still, in my mind, Charlie. Understand?? Yeah, me neither.

Boone is still dreamy. Nice that he found sunglasses for his sister.

And YAY Vincent's back. Though the father is still clueless.

I wonder what Locke's story is. He seems really smart, but does he use his power for good or evil?

I can't wait for next week!!

I was so scared for the dog. I thought that when Locke was blowing the dog whistle, it wasn't going to attract just the dog. When he said he tied him to the tree I cringed.

Locke is creepy...

I have a feeling that Charlie didn't keep the secret and told someone else about the message.

Can't wait until Wednesday
