I was reading a story where the heroine (an author) was so involved in her writing that she was neglecting the hubby and kids, who not surprisingly got a bit perturbed with mom. It made me wonder if your kids use to get annoyed with you for writing?

Dearest Her Majesty the Nora,
Last week in my french class, we were learning how to say what time it is. The teacher had us repeat after her, "bonne heure" a few times. I had to force myself not to start laughing at the thought of a group of people saying what sounded like "boner" over and over. Since nobody else seemed to be having an issue with this, I have to wonder....why am I the only one who found this funny?
Mel

If I ever embarrassed Dan and/or Jason, they never mentioned it. But I had them pretty well snowed that whatever I did was somehow right.
My family were big card players. Pinocle (sp?), Hearts, etc. Haven't played anything myself for years, except computer cards.
BW and the boys never got annoyed with me for writing. It's always been my job. But I'm fairly good at juggling the balls, or making it seem natural when I drop one. And I'm lucky to have pretty laid-back men.
Can't remember any Thanksgiving mishap. Mostly it's me in the kitchen, and as long as there's a big, fat meal on the table, nobody notices anything else.
Hmm. Quelle heure est-il? I think that's right. I never thought of bonne heure as boner before. Of course, now I will.

I just read your response to what you would do if someone lectured you about the dangers of smoking, and it brought another question to my mind -- have any of your fans ever tried (in earnest) to convert you to their religion/"save your soul"? (Someone once asked that of Douglas Adams, a confirmed athiest, and he seemed surprised that someone would even try... but you never know.) If so, how did you handle it?
(Disclaimer: I mean no offense, I am not trying to poke fun at anyone's religious beliefs or lack thereof; I was just curious.)

Good morning Nora,
I'm making my famous pasta salad for a family party Saturday night, and I was curious: do you prefer pasta salad, potato salad, or macaroni salad?

Madame :little_nora: I was thinking the other day and wondering.... If Theodore Thick Thumb thrust three thousand thistles through the thick of his thumb how many unthrust thumbs did Theodore Thick Thumb think he had? Any insight would be appreciated. ![[dizzy]](graemlins/dizzy.gif)

Hey Nora,
thanks for clearing up the matter with the curious cat..I've been wondering for months...
Now I've read this interview with you and I was wondering....
Q) How long was it before you published your first novel? A) By the time my first novel, Irish Thoroughbred, was published in 1981, I already had three years of hard work behind me and several rejected manuscripts languishing in desk drawers.
Q) Have you thought about publishing those early works? A) The very first story -- definitely no....never! But everything else has been reworked, punched up, and sold years ago. There's really nothing else languishing now.
Do you rememeber those reworked manuscripts and in which books did you rework them?
Teo

Your love of Ireland is well known. Would you ever move there on a permanent basis?

We're recovering from the heavy winds that whipped through here the last two days. Did you get the heavy winds and if so, did you lose any trees, etc on your property.
Oh, thanks for the tips on getting Faith to do her assignments, I only have to threaten to sit, tie and shackle and she gets right to work! Hope this keeps up!

Hi Nora,
I'm new here, and have been trying to think of something intelligent to ask for a week or so...lol. So here goes.... Does BW read your books and if so, does he feel pressured by your heros?

In the midst of all the holiday catalogs I'm getting, I just got my American Library Assoc. catalog. I'm looking at the celebrity "Read" posters [click here if you don't know what they are>> ALA store and wondered what book you would pick to be photographed with? (Mel Gibson has "1984", Alec Baldwin has "Huckleberry Finn", Kim Basinger has "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", Rosie O'Donnell has "Beezus and Ramona"). Mistfox - who thinks picking one book would be very hard

Have you ever smoked Eve cigarettes in honor of Eve Dallas?

Good morning, Nora,
As you might know, both Mary Higgins Clark and Elizabeth Lowell have daughters who are published novelists. Did Jason or Dan ever want to write for a living?

Morning Nora, I've been enjoying the beautiful Pomegranates that are in the grocery stores now. And I was wondering.... Does your climate lend itself to growing Pomegranates? And if so do you have any? Winters are a bit too cold here. The folk lore behind Pomegranates: If a young woman wants to know how many children she will have, she should throw a ripe Pomegranate hard to the ground. However many pieces it breaks into is how many children she will have. At one time Pomegranates were called love apples. And if you make a wish before eating one your wish will come true. Just thought I'd throw that in, since I'm the Herb Lady and all..... Mari :starz:

Hi Nora, Just need your opinion on something. We are having our annual Christmas party in a month and are giving out cd's with our favorite Christmas songs as favors. Now we can't decide what to title it...our last name is Cheskey...should we call it... "A Very Cheskey Christmas" :dunno: Thanks... ![[frosty2]](graemlins/frosty2.gif)

Dear Nora:
If one of your books was going to be included in a time capsule to be opened in 3003, which book do you think should be included?
