Day 11 — Nearing the End
The kids get up late and hungry. Yannis brings them scrambled eggs and bacon, and they do it justice. He also brings a tray of little cakes—tiny, flaky pastries it's pretty hard to resist. Why resist?
Yannis is cheerful and efficient, a tall, striking man who never seems ruffled, enjoys teasing the children. If I ever wanted live-in staff—and I just can't imagine having someone in my space—it would be Yannis or his clone.
Dan swims. I tell him I expect to find him in my pool every morning now that's he's developed the habit of a morning swim. Charlotte puts on her pretty new bathing suit and joins him while the kids play. I go back to reading about the zombie wars..
